This collection of articles aims to provoke further analysis on other ways to think about development and organization of the economy.
The pieces highlight the need to unpack the understanding that development (in both theory and practice) is neither a rigid nor monolithic concept—but rather, an economic, social, political, and cultural process. As feminists and women's rights advocates, we need to recreate, reformulate, and rethink development at the global, regional, and local level to advance gender equality and women's rights and justice.
This collection of articles was a contribution to the 12th AWID International Forum (Istanbul, Turkey, 19-22 April 2012) and beyond.
