Human Rights Council (HRC)
The Human Rights Council (HRC) is the key intergovernmental body within the United Nations system responsible for the promotion and protection of all human rights around the globe. It holds three regular sessions a year: in March, June and September. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is the secretariat for the HRC.
The HRC works by:

Debating and passing resolutions on global human rights issues and human rights situations in particular countries

Examining complaints from victims of human rights violations or activist organizations on behalf of victims of human rights violations

Appointing independent experts (known as “Special Procedures”) to review human rights violations in specific countries and examine and further global human rights issues
-
Engaging in discussions with experts and governments on human rights issues
-
Assessing the human rights records of all UN Member States every four and a half years through the Universal Periodic Review
AWID works with feminist, progressive and human rights partners to share key knowledge, convene civil society dialogues and events, and influence negotiations and outcomes of the session.
With our partners, our work will:
◾️ Monitor, track and analyze anti-rights actors, discourses and strategies and their impact on resolutions
◾️ Raise awareness of the findings of the 2017 and 2021 OURs Trends Reports.
◾️Support the work of feminist UN experts in the face of backlash and pressure
◾️Advocate for state accountability
◾️ Work with feminist movements and civil society organizations to advance rights related to gender and sexuality.

2005: se celebra el segundo Diálogo de Alto Nivel
Segundo Diálogo de Alto Nivel sobre la Financiación para el Desarrollo
- El tema general del Segundo Diálogo de Alto Nivel sobre la Financiación para el Desarrollo, que tuvo lugar el 27 y 28 de junio de 2005, fue El Consenso de Monterrey: estado de aplicación y labor futura.
- Además de las seis mesas redondas tradicionales, cada una centrada en uno de los capítulos del Consenso de Monterrey, se produjo un diálogo interactivo informal en el que participaron muchos actores, incluyendo a grupos por los derechos de las mujeres.
Las naciones ‘en desarrollo’ exhortaron a que se tuvieran en cuenta los desafíos globales así como las necesidades y posibilidades locales en la interacción con diferentes grupos (mujeres, jóvenes, personas con discapacidad, etc.) para abordar las temáticas identificadas en el Consenso de Monterrey.

¿Qué entienden por financiamiento externo?
El financiamiento externo incluye donaciones y otras formas de financiamiento provenientes de fundaciones filantrópicas, gobiernos, donantes bilaterales, multilaterales y corporativos y de donantes individuales, ya sea que estos se encuentren radicados en tu país o en el exterior. Excluye aquellos recursos que las agrupaciones, organizaciones o movimientos generan de manera autónoma como, por ejemplo, cuotas de membresía, contribuciones voluntarias del personal, afiliadxs o adherentes, colectas comunitarias, alquiler de espacios propios o venta de servicios. Para consultar más referencias, en la propia encuesta se encuentran incluidas las definiciones de los distintos tipos de financiamiento y descripciones breves de distintos tipos de donantes.

Le cinquième Dialogue de haut niveau sur le financement du développement, organisé les 7 et 8 décembre 2011, a marqué le début des discussions relatives au programme de développement de l’après-2015 et aux liens entre ce programme et le financement du développement. La conférence a accordé une attention particulière à la question de l’accroissement de l’aide au financement des OMD. Dans ses observations finales, le Secrétaire général a appelé les membres à commencer à réfléchir sur le cadre de développement de l’après-2015.

Leticia fue una abogada y jueza de Uganda.
Antes de retirarse, ocupó muchas posiciones de alto perfil, como por ejemplo miembrx de la Corte de Apelaciones de Uganda y Presidenta Adjunta de la Corte Suprema de Uganda. Fue la primera mujer ugandesa en ocupar el cargo de Primera Magistrada entre 1973 y 1986, y la primera mujer en ser nombrada jueza de la Corte Suprema en 1986.
Fue una de las primeras mujeres investidas como “Caballero Papal” de la historia de la Iglesia Católica en África. Murió de un paro cardíaco.
