The Human Rights Council (HRC) is the key intergovernmental body within the United Nations system responsible for the promotion and protection of all human rights around the globe. It holds three regular sessions a year: in March, June and September. The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is the secretariat for the HRC.
The HRC works by:
Debating and passing resolutions on global human rights issues and human rights situations in particular countries
Examining complaints from victims of human rights violations or activist organizations on behalf of victims of human rights violations
Appointing independent experts (known as “Special Procedures”) to review human rights violations in specific countries and examine and further global human rights issues
Engaging in discussions with experts and governments on human rights issues
Assessing the human rights records of all UN Member States every four and a half years through the Universal Periodic Review
AWID works with feminist, progressive and human rights partners to share key knowledge, convene civil society dialogues and events, and influence negotiations and outcomes of the session.
With our partners, our work will:
◾️ Monitor, track and analyze anti-rights actors, discourses and strategies and their impact on resolutions

Existen numerosas razones acerca de por qué tu respuesta a la encuesta ¿Dónde está el dinero? es importante. Entre otras cosas, tienes la oportunidad de compartir tu experiencia con la movilización de financiamiento para apoyar a tu organización, afirmar tu poder como especialista en cómo se mueve el dinero y a quién le llega, y contribuir a la promoción colectiva y continua ante los donantes para movilizar más y mejor financiamiento. Durante los últimos dos decenios, la investigación de AWID ¿Dónde está el dinero? ha demostrado ser un recurso clave para activistas y donantes. Con muchísimo entusiasmo, te invitamos a sumarte a AWID en su tercera edición para poner de relieve el estado real de la dotación de recursos, impugnar las falsas soluciones y señalar cómo el financiamiento necesita cambiar para que los movimientos prosperen y hagan frente a los complejos desafíos de nuestro tiempo.
The data from our tribute indicate that Mexico is a particularly dangerous country for defenders. Out of the 12 Mexican Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) we commemorate in this years’ Tribute, 11 were murdered. They were journalists, women’s rights advocates, trans* rights and social activists. Après un examen attentif, la Direction de l’AWID a décidé en novembre 2019 de faire évoluer le lieu de tenue du 14ème Forum international de l’AWID, de Bali à Taipei.
Taipei dispose de fortes capacités logistiques et est accessible pour beaucoup de voyageurs·ses (avec une facilitation de procédure de visa électronique pour les conférences internationales).
Nous redistribuons une partie de nos fonds à des partenaires bénéficiaires et nous identifions comme un fonds féministe et/ou de femmes, devrions-nous participer à cette enquête?
Non, nous reconnaissons l’importance cruciale de votre travail, mais nous ne collectons pas les participations de fonds féministes et de femmes à l’heure actuelle. Nous vous encourageons néanmoins à transmettre cette enquête à vos partenaires bénéficiaires et vos réseaux féministes.
En nuestro Tributo Virtual 2015 a las defensoras de derechos humanos que ya no están con nosotros/as recordamos a cuatro mujeres del África subsahariana, tres de las cuales fueron asesinadas por el trabajo que realizaban y/o por su identidad de género y orientación sexual. Sus muertes ponen en evidencia la violencia que suelen enfrentar las personas LGBT en la región y en el mundo. Guadalupe was an environmental activist involved in the fight against crime in Cherán, Mexico.
Guadalupe helped to overthrow the local government in April 2011 and participated in local security patrols including those in municipal forests. She was among the Indigenous leaders of Cherán, who called on people to defend their forests against illegal and merciless logging. Her work for seniors, children, and workers made her an icon in her community.
She was killed in Chilchota, Mexico about 30 kilometers north of her hometown of Cherá.

Snippet FEA Mariama Sonko (ES)
Tenemos el placer de presentarte a Mariama Sonko, inspiradora ecofeminista, campesina y defensora de los derechos humanos y de las mujeres, que vive actualmente en Niaguis, en el suroeste de Senegal.
Al crecer en una familia y comunidad campesina rural, fue testigo del papel esencial de la mujer en la producción de alimentos y el almacenamiento de semillas desde la infancia, mientras estaba inmersa en el trabajo y ritmos de la tierra.
Mariama ha defendido el conocimiento agrícola local y las prácticas campesinas desde los años 1990. Como madre de 5 hijos, los alimentos que ella misma cultiva son la principal fuente de sustento de su familia.
Actualmente es presidenta de Nous Sommes la Solution y está comprometida con la promoción de las prácticas agroecológicas y la agricultura familiar, con el fomento de la soberanía alimentaria, la biodiversidad y la preservación de las semillas campesinas, y con la exigencia del acceso equitativo a los recursos y a la tierra en África Occidenta para las mujeres.

Dado que la encuesta ¿Dónde está el dinero? se centra en las realidades de la dotación de recursos para las organizaciones feministas, la mayoría de las preguntas indagan acerca del financiamiento de tu agrupación entre 2021 y 2023. Para responder la encuesta, necesitarás tener a mano cierta información como, por ejemplo, presupuestos anuales y las fuentes clave de financiamiento.
