Massan d’Almeida, a feminist organizer from Togo and the founding and outgoing Executive Director of ROFAF (AWID institutional member) tells stories about unpaid labour, dwindling resources, what happens when an African women human rights defender dies alone, and why it is important to dare and tell these stories.

Created as a form of resistance, AFASDA’s mission is to work with Haitian women and girls to advance their overall development, the respect of their rights, and also to contribute to reframing violence against women from a domestic problem to a national one.

The collective Sentimos Diverso defines itself as a “feminist collective that mobilizes to create and to develop projects and actions aimed at empowering women, young people and people with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities, to demand their human, sexual and reproductive rights.”

WoMin, an African gender and extractives alliance, focuses on exposing the negative impacts mining has on women and works to provide eco-feminist and post-extractivist development alternatives. 

The organisation is women-led and community-based. WE-Change works on raising awareness and defending the rights of lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LBT) women in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
