Closing gender finance gaps: discussion on financing scenarios for women in agriculture

On 28 October 2015, Anne Schoenstein of AWID’s Economic Justice team participated, along with UN Women and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, in an online discussion of the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development.

AWID’s input, also on behalf of the Women’s Working Group on Financing for Development, focused on providing a feminist lens on the outcome of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3).

Looking forward she stressed, among other, the need to truly tackle corporate illicit financial flows and to establish a global tax body under the UN. In this regard, it is important to constructively engage with and support the work of the Human Rights Council Intergovernmental Working Group on a legally binding instrument to regulate, in international human rights law, the activities of transnational corporations and other business enterprises.
