We believe that for feminist movements to be transformative and strong we must continue to work across our similarities and differences. We also must interrogate power and privilege both within and outside our movements.

Le Groupe de travail des femmes sur le financement du développement   (Women's Working Group on Financing for Development – WWG on FfD) , une alliance composée d’organisations et de réseaux de défense des droits des femmes,  a été créée en octobre 2007 pour mener, dans le cadre des processus des Nations Unies sur le FdD, des activités de plaidoyer en faveur de l’égalité de genre, de l’autonomisation des femmes et des droits humains.

• Le troisième Dialogue de haut niveau sur le financement du développement a été l’occasion d’un regain de participation de la société civile. En plus des six tables rondes, des audiences ont été consacrées à la société civile et au secteur privé.
• Lors de la séance plénière, l’AWID a prononcé une déclaration au nom de la société civile  appelant les gouvernements à accorder une attention plus soutenue au rôle important en tant qu’agentes de développement que jouent les organisations de défense des droits des femmes et à la nécessité de favoriser la mise en œuvre de nouveaux mécanismes de financement destinés aux femmes dans les pays en développement et dans les pays les moins avancés. Cette déclaration exhortait les gouvernements à apporter un soutien plus important à l’architecture de genre des Nations Unies, de façon à ce que le système,  dans son ensemble,  puisse progresser dans son engagement en faveur de l’égalité des genres, de l’autonomisation des femmes et des droits humains, en ce qui concerne notamment  les droits économiques, sociaux, culturels et environnementaux de toutes les personnes.

I believe empowered women empower women and that is why I’ve had an incredible time being an AWID member. My knowledge and understanding of Feminism and intersectionality has been broadened by the exposure I received being part of the AWID Community Street Team. The #MeToo movement in China was ignited in January 2018, impelled by the momentum of the #MeToo movement around the globe. The movement was a response to cultural and systemic problems in relation to gender and power within China. The foundation of the movement was laid over decades, with many years of debate and advocacy for gender equality finally erupting into a tremendous force across society. #MeToo has been driven mainly by young people, among whom are countless anonymous women and their allies, and they search for opportunities to realize the ultimate “Chinese Dream”: to transform China into a country with gender equality.
 
The environment for #MeToo movement is extremely adverse in China: the rule of law, the fairness and transparency of government action, and freedom of speech cannot be taken for granted by the movement in China but are the very goals it fights for. From the beginning, it has been an intense struggle, with every victim or activist who comes forward running tremendous risks. From being silenced, humiliated, or retaliated against, to having their safety jeopardized, every success of the #MeToo movement has been won by those who are courageous enough to bear the costs of speaking out and defying censorship.
 
#MeToo in China Exhibition was first held in 2019 and toured in 5 cities. The aim of the exhibition is to bring the personal experiences of the victims and activists to greater prominence and, through engagement with these stories, to inspire our audience to join in the fight. The exhibition has itself become a part of the #MeToo struggle—the exhibition has been beset by challenges on its tour throughout China, on more than one occasion even facing closure.

Launch of the Intergovernmental preparatory process for the 3rd Financing for Development Conference, October 2014

• A preparatory process, co-facilitated by Ambassador George Wilfred Talbot of Guyana and Ambassador Geir O. Pedersen of Norway, was put in place to lead discussions ahead of the 3rd FfD conference to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in July 2015.
• As part of the preparations, two rounds of substantive informal sessions were held at the UN headquarters in New York to provide input to the drafting sessions of the outcome document.
• The WWG on FfD was re-activated with the aim of bringing feminist and women’s rights perspectives to the discussions and deliberations ahead of and during the 3rd International FfD Conference. AWID, Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN) and the Feminist Task Force (FTF) are currently acting as co-facilitators of the group.
• The WWG on FfD’s submitted two oral statements during the first round, and written input to the second round of substantive informal sessions, which highlighted that gender inequality was not visible, nor was the inclusion of other types of discrimination and inequalities. The WWG’s submission highlights gender power relations and the intersections with other categories such as race, disability, ethnicity, age, wealth and sexual identity, which underpin the unequal distribution of opportunities and resources in societies around the world.
• Civil society organizations raised concerns about the space for their engagement in the two substantive informal sessions, including the risk that civil society space to engage in negotiations on the outcome document in January 2015 might be constricted. 

Nous vous présentons Sabrina Sanchez, incroyable femme trans, migrante, travailleuse du sexe, organisatrice, transféministe et l'une des fondatrices du syndicat OTRAS.

Originaire de Mexico, elle a émigré en Espagne il y a 17 ans après avoir obtenu son diplôme en communication et a commencé à travailler comme travailleuse du sexe.

Il ne fallut pas longtemps avant qu'elle ne s'implique dans l'activisme trans et l'activisme des travailleur·euses du sexe à Barcelone. Après avoir rejoint l'Association des Professionnel·les du Sexe (Asociación de Profesionales del Sexo, Aprosex), elle a commencé à travailler dans son secrétariat et a fondé le syndicat espagnol des travailleur·euses du sexe OTRAS.

Elle vit actuellement à Amsterdam, où elle travaille comme coordinatrice de l'Alliance Européenne des Travailleur·euses du Sexe.

Fait divers: elle est aussi mécanicienne automobile et adepte de la course à pied!

Depuis l’adoption de la Déclaration et du programme d’action de Beijing il y a 30 ans, les groupes fascistes exercent un pouvoir et une influence croissantes dans les espaces multilatéraux, faisant reculer les acquis en matière d’égalité de genre et de protection des droits humains dans le monde.

À l’approche de la CSW69, nous co-organisons de courageuses initiatives horizontales, sur le terrain et en ligne, pour échanger des stratégies et bâtir un pouvoir féministe au-delà de Beijing+30. Notre présence collective perturbe les mécanismes d’exclusion des institutions dans ces espaces tout en soutenant les mouvements qui s’organisent autour d’alternatives féministes aux systèmes d’oppression.

Una exposición de Nicole Barakat que encarna su reconexión con los objetos de la diáspora de sus tierras ancestrales en la región del Sudoeste Asiático y África del Norte (SWANA, por sus siglas en inglés).
 
Barakat presenta una colección de obras textiles como manifestaciones de su práctica de conectarse con los objetos desplazados, y a menudo robados, que son exhibidos en colecciones de museos occidentales que incluyen  el Museo del Louvre de París, el Museo Británico de Londres y el Nicholson Museum de Sydney.
 
Para burlar a los guardianes y fisurar las vitrinas que retienen estos objetos ancestrales, Barakat recupera formas de conocimiento precoloniales, no lineales y receptivas que son, a menudo, devaluadas y desestimadas por las instituciones coloniales y patriarcales, utilizando la adivinación con la borra del  café, el trabajo con los  sueños, la escucha intuitiva y las conversaciones con los objetos mismos (fuente).

Sesiones adicionales para redactar el Documento Final de Adís Abeba

• Del 1 al 5 de junio de 2015 se realizaron sesiones adicionales para continuar avanzando en la redacción del Documento Final.
• Del 15 al 19 de junio, en la sede de la ONU tuvo lugar la ya planificada Tercera Sesión Redactora del Documento Final de la Conferencia.
