Every two weeks we profile a different institutional AWID member. If you would like to be profiled here, please send your biographical information to membership@awid.org
The Traffina Foundation for Community Health (Nigeria) primarily aims to provide a lead strategy for access to quality information on reproductive health, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, and maternal and child mortality to a large population without discriminating on the grounds of gender, age, and orientation. The Foundation engages and supports the efforts of relevant Federal Health Departments, local implementing partners, donor agencies or development partners and civil society, by promoting girls and women trough capacity building for health workers and communities. Some of the objectives of the Foundation are to advocate for equitable participation of women in community health policy formulations, conduct awareness raising programs focusing on sexual and reproductive health and rights, conduct relevant research on children and women in development, and create awareness on combatting violence against women. The Traffina Foundation believes in a society where government policies and programs are centered on developing the potential of children, women and young persons, and harnessing them to become agents of positive social change.
