This series of conferences started with About Women & Work in 2004. About Women & Vision is specifically designed to cater to the needs of motivated and aspiring female professionals in the Caribbean.
The 2013 Geneva Training Course offers an opportunity for participants with existing advocacy experience atdomestic or regional level to expand their knowledge and skills, and over the 2-week period in Geneva directly engage in lobbying and advocacy activities at the UN level.

The conference – hosted in Belfast by Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire – will for the first time bring together all six Laureates of the Nobel Women’s Initiative. They will be joined by over 80 influential activists, academics, and decision makers from across the globe whose work focuses on ending militarism and war with nonviolent strategies for peace.

The UN Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review of UN Member States is an important mechanism/opportunity for NGO's to review gender components of individual country UPR Reports on human rights. The Final Reports of the Universal Periodic Review Working Group often contains gender-focused text that can be very useful in advocacy for the human rights of women and girls.

The Gender Forum will dialogue with an expert panel of discussants drawn from government, civil society, professional institutions, financing bodies and research to understand the public procurement regulatory environment and how it is set to change to accommodate the 30% reserve for women and youth, the roles of specific agencies in implementation and monitoring and how local entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth, are organising and poised to benefit from the 30% public procurement reserve.

The subject of the discussion will be Legal pluralism in Madagascar: can customary and statutory law be reconciled to promote women’s land rights?. As Madagascar is moving into Phase II of its tenure reform, it provides an interesting case study of how legal pluralism may restrict or promote women’s access to land.
The Eurodad conference will bring together leading civil society thinkers from around the globe working on issues ranging from debt, tax justice, aid, private finance, the International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and global monetary reform.
