The Fiji Women’s Rights Movement (FWRM) is a feminist nongovernmental organisation that combines local concerns with a global perspective. FWRM was formed in 1986 and is a sister organisation of the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center. FWRM is an innovative and dynamic organisation, inspired and organised by Fijian women. FWRM is committed to removing all forms of discrimination against women through institutional reforms and attitudinal changes. The organization does this through its core programmes, as well as innovative approaches. FWRM practices and promotes democracy, good governance, feminism and human rights. It strives to empower, unite and provide leadership opportunities for women in Fiji, especially for emerging young leaders. FWRM’s vision is for the women of Fiji and the Pacific to be free from all forms of discrimination, have equal access to opportunities and to live in a healthy and enabling environment. FWRM joined AWID as a member in 2010. To contact FWRM, please visit their website
