Women In Parliament: Beyond Numbers
This handbook is a tool. It proposes no one solution, but accepts that our situations vary though we share common aims. It presents us with information on the methods that have been used elsewhere, and those that are now available to us.
The Women in Parliament: Beyond Numbers Handbook identifies the obstacles to winning election to parliament that women face, and provides suggestions and options for overcoming them. It also seeks to move beyond numbers, by identifying the ways in which women can impact on political processes through their participation in decision-making bodies. The Handbook gathers together knowledge and practical experience from all around the world and draws upon women’s experiences from different regions in their struggle for gender equality in politics.
