The March 2014 issue of the international journal Gender & Development, (published for Oxfam GB by Routledge/Taylor and Francis) will look at Education and Learning from a gender justice and women’s rights perspective. 

We encourage staff, research students and post-doctoral researchers from all discipline across all faculties, whose research interests are related to issues of gender and/or sexualities, to present their research.

This 8^th issue of Q-zine, Africa’s only magazine of LGBTI arts and culture, aims to provoke reflection, analysis, and debate on past and current ideas of queer style and fashion in relation to African queerness.

Gender inequality still persists in the region. Data show that women continue to face discrimination in the access to universal services, quality of education, sexual and reproductive health and other social services, as well obstacles to access to decent work, economic goods and political participation. Violence against women continues to undermine efforts to achieve all the development goals, increasing barriers to access and enjoy their rights. 

Sign on and endorse the Civil Society African Common Position. Endorsements from around the world will be included, however individuals and organisations from Africa will be placed on a separate list from those from non-African countries.

The call includes participation at the 24th session of the HRC, in which half day will be dedicated to discuss the WCIP. It would be good to get this opportunity to bring committed indigenous peoples' representatives to participate in the discussion.

The Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa (ERNWACA) calls for scientific articles in all areas of education for the 5th edition of the Journal of Educational Research in Africa (JERA), a social science review.

Generally for unsolicited articles we don't pay an honorarium, however in light of the gender flip 80:20 we will. After the article is published we will ask for your wire details. Payments are made from Doha, and are subject to the bureaucratic pace of life here.

The Association for Progressive Communications’ Women’s Rights Programme (WRP) is developing the second phase of its project EROTICS: An exploratory research project into sexuality and the internet (http://www.apc.org/en/node/7904) and initiating a monitoring survey for sexual rights activists as its first activity. Available in eight languages, the survey seeks to expose the difficulties that sexuality rights activists face in developing free and full access to the internet for their work as advocates. Deadline for completing the survey: April 8, 2013.
