Every two weeks we profile a different individual AWID member. If you would like to be profiled here, please send your biographical information to membership@awid.org
Judith Léa Zerbo lives in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. She holds two Master’s Degrees, one in Education Sciences and one in “Innovation, Development and Societies”. Judith Léa has always been concerned about difficulties faced by women in Burkina Faso and in furthering her understanding of gender related issues. To advance her understanding she enrolled and graduated from an ILO long-distance learning course in Gender and Development. She is also the president of “New Awakening of African Woman.” New Awakening is an association aiming to help the poorest women become financially independent. Judith Léa regards the economic ‘awakening’ of women as a powerful means to solving many of the problems they encounter.
