This session discusses the history, strategies, and current situation of women's organizing at and around the United Nations. It explores the ways in which organizing around the UN has both advanced and hindered the building of a global women’s movement and the formation of coalitions across movements. Presenters explain current debates around gender equality and the GEAR campaign, and strategies to make the UN system more accessible to women’s rights issues and women’s voices.
