Sustaining Women's Organizations during Conflicts

Sustaining Women's Organizations during Conflicts

This session served as a forum of discussion on how to underscore the essential nature of the role of organizations and institutions in protecting individuals at risk in conflict situations.

The organizations at the community level play a key role: they provide resources and protection to those at risk, and thus they are the backbone of the women’s movement; on the other hand they serve as a bridge to the rest of the movement, ensuring communication between the ground and the international level. This session also explored how to achieve an effective link among the different levels and how to mobilize resources for women’s organizations in conflict situations.
