Heidi was born in San Pedro, California, United States and has lived in the Middle East for over five years. She received her Undergraduate Degree from the University of California, Berkeley and will soon complete her Master’s Degree in Middle Eastern History from Tel Aviv University.
In September 2012, Heidi became the Executive Director of Women’s Voices Now, a non-profit organization aiming to provide a platform for the free expression of all women living in Muslim-majority societies. The organization connects women across borders in the struggle for their human rights - economic, gender, political, cultural, religious, and ethnic. They do this mainly by organizing film festivals, traveling to Muslim-majority societies to screen the films and facilitate discussion on issues women in these societies want to address.
Heidi’s biggest dream is to be useful to the advancement of society. She wishes for a world in which people are fascinated by their differences rather than frightened by them.
