Society Without Violence (SWV) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2001, operating in Yerevan and four (Shirak, Lori, Gexarquniq and Syuniq) other regions in Armenia. The organization envisions a civil society without violence, a country that will be governed by people adherent to true democratic values, citizens who respect and promote gender equality and a society with no space for violence against women. The organization aims to share human rights skills and knowledge with others, educate and inspire young women and girls to be active in political, social and cultural spheres of life, and empower women and girls to become leaders and women human rights defenders. Within 10 years SWV has created a “Society without Violence Network” which includes active youth from the above mentioned regions. The organization is a member of the “Coalition to Stop Violence against Women” and the “Young Women’s Network of South Caucasus”. For further information about SWV, please visit their website
