Individual Member: Karina Rodríguez Moreno

Karina Moreno

Every week we profile a different individual AWID member. If you would like to be profiled here, please send your biographical information to membership@awid.org

Karina Rodríguez Moreno was born in Mexico City. She is a Feminist sociologist and activist fighting for women’s rights, particularly for the rights to health and to equal opportunities. Karina works with young women in an autonomous group called Colectiva Feminista Degeneradas. Her expertise lies in community work, sexual and reproductive rights, gender-based violence and civil society organizations. Karina is the mother of a 7 month old boy. For her, an advantage of being a young mother is the energy and patience you have for motherhood, and a disadvantage is the considerable increase in work. Karina dreams of a day when the next generations will live differently, and women will go into the streets without fear that something bad will happen to them, and nobody will ever rape, kill or make a profit out of us.
